Autumn Pompom blanket

 ♥ Autumn Pompom Blanket

If you are after a big, warm and very snuggly blanket then this is the one for you !
The finished blanket measures : 175cm x 205cm

For this blanket I used:
35 x STYLECRAFT SPECIAL CHUNKY in CAMEL
4 x STYLECRAFT SPECIAL DK in CAMEL

I used a size 6mm hook,
and using the Chunky means it works up really quickly.
My starting chain was 210 + 1 stitches
and then I worked every row in DC,
remembering to CH 1 at the beginning of each row.

I used a pompom maker and  DK wool to make all of the
pompoms - 60 in total !

Once I had the required length for my blanket
I worked all around the edge in DC.
I then worked a second row of DC's all the way around but for
this round I used two strands of wool.

I did this to provide a firm foundation for my final row of Rope/Crab stitch.
This stitch is basically backwards DC and very simple to do.
Click here for details on how to do this.

Once the edging was completed I placed the pompoms where I wanted them

and then stitched them in to place.

Job done !
